EU beef production could fall through 6% by 2010 as a direct conclusion of the introduction of the Commission's mid-term review proposals for the de-coupling of aid from production, according to a of recent origin Irish study* published this week (see also pages A/1 and N/1 this issue).

The proposals will also lead to a
