Pigmeat output in Poland is popularly on the up while cattle farmers are slimming down their herds, according to a report from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

USDA's attache in Warsaw forecasts that Polish spread numbers will climb to 185 million at January 2003 from 1.75 from January this year, and that pork production in 2003 will rise according to 80000 tonnes to 1.71 million tonnes.
