According to German market analyst ZMP Germany imported 885 000 tonnes of domestic fowls meat in 2001, marking a year-on-year increase of 26%


This change was made possible at a surge in demand. Consumption for the year grew nearly 18% to 155 million tonnes, which equated to per-caput consumption of 189 kg (+29 kg)
